Fallujah battle tests Marines near friendly rye fields
Marines opened a foot patrol in Fallujah near rye fields and came under unexpected fire. A helmeted Marine was wounded, another injured in the leg, and tanks and helicopters attacked insurgent positions. Insurgents deployed mortars, RPGs and anti aircraft guns while residents set up a field hospital and warned of continued resistance.

Teens' pipe bomb experiments injure two in North Ridgeville
Accorti described the incidents as experimental and curious. One teen lost a hand and the other suffered a stab wound to the abdomen as they wired a bomb in a Stoney Ridge home yard. About 10 other pipe bombs had exploded since winter. Police interviewed the youths. parents and two attorneys were present. The injured teen remains positive and is adapting to new activities.
