Ribbons cut at kids center in Elyria by governor

Gov. George Voinovich praised Elyria as a pioneer in child care during a ribbon cutting for the Elyria Corporate Consortium Child Care and Learning Center on Park Place. Kennedy kin suspect in Kennedy compound rape case

Indicted Green Acres director faced theft in office charge

Lorain County official Gordon, longtime director of the Green Acres Children’s Home, was indicted on one count of theft in office for allegedly stealing food and paper commodities from 1983 to 1990. The county sheriff’s investigation followed a tip and found empty cartons in her garbage. Gordon, 50, has been reassigned to administrative duties pending case disposition and remains a County social worker with a distinguished record aside from late or incomplete supervisory reports noted in 1989.
