4-Fs considered for war work reclassification
Military Affairs committee pursued reclassifying 4-Fs into 8-A or 2-B for war work as cases show many avoid non war tasks. Officials said extending the 2-A deferment would be disastrous, with 4-Fs gradually absorbed into needed occupations while younger men report first and broader ages follow.
