Island Water Supply Better in Sardinia Under Fancal Rule

Reports from the Public Works Ministry show the Sardinian water crisis eased as since 1925 the state and communes funded 102 inland aqueducts at 62 million lire. New lines serve nearly 500,000 people with 73 more under construction for 296,000. Previously 228 of 364 communes relied on wells or ponds, forcing costly rail water transport in dry seasons. Key aqueducts feed Cagliari, Sassari, and Nuoro.
