Grafton church raises 5000 for hospital bills in minutes

After an accident left Scott Cayton with severe injuries, Unity Church and over a dozen area churches organized a benefit concert on March 1. The event drew a packed 220 seat turnout and raised five thousand dollars in under three hours to cover medical bills at Elyria Memorial and Rainbow Babies Hospital. Featured acts included the Gospel Jubilaires of Dayton and the Payne Family Singers of Lorain, with participation from Good Hope Baptist Elyria Calvary Ridge Nazarene and several others. Cayton, recently laid off from Ford’s Brook Park complex, had moved to Lodi hoping for work as a roofer, while his family faced mounting bills. The church noted this as a vivid example of God’s love in action.
