Jos Miller aged 58 and Frank Nott aged 21, transients, pled guilty to larceny in police court before Major James A Hewitt. Miller received 30 days in jail plus a $50 fine and costs. Nott got 10 days in county jail and a $5 fine plus costs. They stole about fifteen pounds of copper cable from a Steel and Tubes building near Blake Street valued at one dollar, and were accused of damaging equipment including a large switchboard.

Preliminary work on the improvement of three miles and a half of Lake road through Sheffield Lake village to the limits of the city of Lorain is under way. Tractors for the pouring of concrete cannot start for a month or six weeks.
