Ohio mobilizes 1100 lawyers to deter foreclosures
Gov Strickland leads a program enlisting 1100 private attorneys to aid Ohio homeowners facing foreclosure. In coordination with legal aid, they aim to restructure loans and mediate disputes with lenders as about 45 local courts offer mediation. The effort targets homeowners earning about $55,000 a year for a family of four and includes a state web site and helpline for eligibility.
