Airplanes may be used to haul food to Oak Forest where 4,500 residents have been cut off by a four day snow storm. Fourteen milk trucks are stuck in snow between Chicago and Oak Forest, leaving infirmary patients without milk and other provisions.
In Washington the Brookhart Steck contest for Iowa’s junior Senate seat moves to the Senate floor under a unanimous consent agreement. Brookhart supporters plan to call the minority report to seat Brookhart by plurality, while the majority report backs Steck.
The Shan ting army withdraws from Peking and Chihli toward Tientsin as the peoples army vows to defend Peking during peace talks with General Wu Pei Fu. Northern China is described as in a chaos unparalleled in its troubled history.
New York April 2 bandits shot and killed Le Rothman 59 watchman during a Delancey street laundry office hold up. The robbers escaped with 35 dollars. Rothman attempted to summon help as they fled. one assailant fired a bullet into his stomach. An ambulance arrived but he was dead.
Michard Reese Whittemore known as the Candy Kid was moved from New York City to Buffalo to face a murder trial for the daylight holdup and killing of two bank messengers last October. He arrived under heavy guard after a violent transfer, and a photographer’s camera was knocked aside during the ride. His wife Mrs Margaret Whittemore sat in a Buffalo cell, fearing for her husband’s fate.
Two lawsuits filed in Lorain Common Pleas seek 45040 total against The City Produce Company of 204 W Eleventh St Lorain. Elmer Jones of Vickery seeks 25000 for injuries from a January 23 crash on the Norwalk Monroeville highway, alleging careless driving and excessive speed. Elmer Ellis of Vickery seeks 20000 for injuries and vehicle damage.

He allegedly falsified 1921 federal income tax returns as the stock transfer probe into American Metals Company swelled. He pled not guilty and posted 2500 bail with ten days to respond.
Pearl West, 20, a government clerk, barely survives a plunge when two motorists, W. W. Conner and James C. Mattingly, haul her from a railing on Connecticut Avenue Bridge. Mattingly swings Conner, freeing her to safety above a 200 foot drop.
