Grace eyes control of schools in Elyria
Mayor Bill Grace pushes a concept to let mayors of large urban areas take over local school districts by state law change. State Sen. Jeffry Armbruster notes the plan is in early stages and not yet a formal bill. Grace cites Cleveland's model and says he will explore options to improve Elyria, amid past school bond failures and board tensions.

Anglers Embrace Walleye Limits On River Run
In Maumee Ohio Ken Mikes and Edgar Resroad ignore the new walleye daily limit dropping to nine. They travel from West Virginia for the annual run and fish in waist deep water for hours with other anglers. Local anglers support the rule as a measure to protect spawning walleye while others worry about the impact on trips and catches. The Ohio Division of Wildlife lowered March and April limits to safeguard the fish during spawning while keeping other periods at six.
