The incident involved Long pulling a 380 caliber pistol during a confrontation with 19 year old Eric Brown, but no shots were fired.
Elyria authorities report three teen girls escaped from a new detention center less than two weeks after the building opened. A 17-year-old from Lorain was arrested about four hours later and returned to Murray Ridge Road’s Girls Detention Home. The 14 and 15-year-old Elyria residents remain at large as officials with Lorain County Juvenile Court refused to disclose arrest details. The facility, part of a $3 million juvenile complex, began housing girls on March 23.
James Luli, 19, of Rootstown, dived into the Cuyahoga River after a car knocked a mother and her 3 year old son Dylan Diblik into the water. He grabbed the child, pulled him free, and kept him above water until help arrived. The boy is listed in satisfactory condition. mother Lawra Diblik, 34, remains critical. A driver, Richard R Tardif, 46, of Kent, faces aggravated vehicular assault charges.
