Female Marines train for combat at Camp Lejeune
At Camp Lejeune North Carolina the first female Marines began combat training alongside men firing a Mark 19 grenade launcher and handling live grenades. Pvt Jessica Greer of Maryland said the women get dirty too while Pvt Rheanna Stebbins, 19, from Las Vegas spoke of a post as a postal clerk after training. The Marine Corps says the training prepares non infantry Marines for port or air port security duties. Capt George Botoulas noted there are no rear areas where women can avoid danger and that women and men now serve together in interchangeable roles on today’s battlefield.

Families say insurers stole in Holocaust
A 37 billion class action filed in Manhattan accuses seven major European insurers of denying or diverting Holocaust era life, property and casualty policies bought 1920 to 1945. Plaintiffs, including Amalia Kranz Burstin and Marta Drucker Cornell, say policies were canceled or proceeds diverted to Nazis, with claims hidden and payments withheld. The suit seeks broader relief and seeks to include more than 10,000 claimants.
