Ohio Tornado History and Warning Advances in Lorain County

Tornado activity in Ohio is analyzed, with Lorain County’s severe storms highlighted. Major outbreaks listed include June 28, 1924 in Lorain's south side, April 11, 1965 through several towns, and July 12, 1992 affecting Amherst and surrounding townships. The Palm Sunday Outbreak and spring patterns are noted, along with Doppler radar advances from Nexrad in 1992 helping detect tornadoes. Recommendations urge emergency planning, two message centers, waterproof records, and battery radios for resilience.

Microsurgical tissue transfer aids cancer reconstruction

Dr Poblete discusses microsurgical free tissue transfer used to reconstruct areas after cancer surgery. The procedure requires careful handling of blood vessels to avoid flap failure, with patients staying 7 to 10 days in hospital and follow ups to monitor healing and cancer recurrence. Remick, a former Lorain County Schools custodian, regained function after part of his mouth was removed and quit tobacco. The technique also aids reconstructive efforts after accidents and other surgeries."
