Walton Co. Acquires Hygienic Ice Co in Friendly Merger

The Walton Ice and Fuel Company completed the purchase of Hygienic Ice and Coal, merging two long standing city firms. The sale covers Hygienic's machinery and equipment but not real estate at stake on 291 Winckles Street. Walton leadership remains strong with Mrs Florence Rudolph as president and treasurer and other family members in key roles. The move aims to achieve economies and consolidate a 25 year rivalry into a unified operation with 24 hour production now underway to meet summer demand.
