300 Korean War Claims Find Favor

More than 800 Americans who fled Korea when the fighting started may collect for personal property left behind. State Department officials say claims from embassy and ECA families are being received and could total about 4 million dollars for clothing furniture and cars abandoned when they fled three months ago mostly by plane. Private citizens in Korea face weaker prospects as their claims would be against North Korea and are uncertain. Businessmen missionaries and correspondents are not covered as government employees. World War II losses had some recourse through seizure of enemy property here.
