Mt Union Instructor Publishes Voting Behavior Study

Mt Union College political science instructor William Eells and Ohio Wesleyan University’s Ben Arneson published in The American Political Science Review. The study compares 1948 and 1924 voting in a typical Ohio community, noting little overall change but larger gains for women and foreign- parentage voters. Young voters aged 20 to 30 show the weakest participation, while those 50 to 60 vote best. The survey is described as a house to house poll, the first of its kind in the United States.
