Three Drug Firms to Modify Ads to Follow Label
The FTC dismissed complaints against Capuchine Chemical Emerson Drug and Miles Laboratories over false advertising. Each agreed to include warnings to follow the label and avoid excess use. Emerson barred claiming Bromo Seltzer reduces acidity beyond stomach content and branded it as a fatigue remedy. Capucline promised not to tout Hick's Liquid Capucline as a hangover cure or faster due to liquid form. Miles’ products Dr Miles Nervine liquid and tablets and Dr Miles anti pain pills were limited to correcting misimpressions.
