Americans to Spend 15 Billion on Travel This Summer
Americans plan record travel with an estimated 90 million people spending 15 billion on pleasure trips. ATSA predicts shorter visits and lower prices than 1948 with some resorts offering cuts up to 20 percent. Auto travel dominates 82 percent, while rail, bus, and air compete with bundled tours and new in-room features. Hotels, parks, and regional drives push vacation activity nationwide.
