Defenbacher Gets Unneeded Confirmation
State Finance Director H. D. Defenbacher won Senate confirmation, 30 to 0, nine weeks late after a reconsideration motion by Sen. William M. Boyd. The vote followed Democratic splits and Republican abstention amid budget-passage criticism. Defenbacher, serving under Lausche and prior administrations, remained in office without formal confirmation.
