Flowers in Action film to highlight spring Repository lecture

More than 1,500 Canton flower enthusiasts will attend the third Repository spring lecture at Timken Vocational High School. The program features a motion picture by biologist T. J. Corgan on plant growth using time lapse photography, including the Ballet of the Primroses, with field demonstrations of growth from seedlings to blooms.

Radio & Television Interference Committee Forms in Canton

The Canton Amateur Radio Club forms a Radio & Television Interference Committee to locate interference sources and advise on fixes. Engineers from radio, television, power, telephone and industry staff the group and loaned equipment enables citywide interference checks. The panel will not perform repairs but will explain causes and corrective steps.

Doctors Set Free Diabetes Detection Drive In Stark County

Stark County Medical Society launches a six day free diabetes detection campaign starting Monday. Doctors will perform urine tests for all county residents who call, with follow up blood tests for suspicious cases. Obtain sterile bottles from a druggist and visit any physician during regular hours for testing.

Senators See Possible End To Filibuster

The Senate neared ending its 12 day filibuster with a secret Sunday huddle among Democrats and Republicans to work out a settlement.
