Mrs. Martha A. Inks of Nappanee Indiana was abducted Sunday afternoon by a man with a revolver who forced her to drive to Canton Ohio. She reached the Onesta hotel in Canton at 9:50 p m and reported the event to Canton police. Detectives FBI and the county prosecutor opened an investigation as authorities broadened their search. the abductor, described as 35 to 40 with dark complexion and well dressed, vanished after leaving the car on Cleveland Avenue.

Stark county WPA rolls show aging, skilled shift to industry
The District Manager Frank T. Miskell reported a 1,316 drop in male WPA workers in Stark county over the past year. The average age rose to 57, with 76 percent of those on rolls unskilled and over 50. Booming armament industries account for 77 percent of male WPA workers. under 40 are a minority. Women in WPA declined from 541 to 309, with 186 certified for employment awaiting jobs. The district quota was cut to 14,700, and last week 46 workers found private employment while 10 returned to WPA.
