British Lords Vote to Delay Steel Nationalization
London report says the House of Lords voted 89 to 22 to postpone the date for state ownership of the iron and steel industry from May 1, 1950, to October 1, 1951. The government plans to seize industry by May 1, 1950, and magic to curb Lords delays will leave power with Commons.
