Highest Price Supports Planned by Farm Bloc

Ashington June 18 AP potentially the highest farm price supports ever proposed by the government next year in a bill drafted by farm state lawmakers. The plan would set supports at 100 percent of Brannon parity and allow a three crop trial, with subsidies to cover perishable crop shortfalls. Prices for major crops and dairy items would be adjusted and standards differ by crop. The measure, chaired by Pace of Georgia, may still be amended before full committee action and could gain bipartisan support.
