E U B Camp Plans Opening June 27
Camp Wanake on Route 93 between Brewster and Beach City opens June 27 with an intermediate camp for junior high youths aged 12 to 14. Sponsored by the East Ohio Conference of the E U B Church, it names Rev. Melvin A. Moody as general director of Christian education and camp director, Rev. R W Mitchell of Lorain as dean, and Rev. C W Fetter of Akron as assistant. A new young adult weekend runs July 2 to 4, with Canton E U B Ministerial Association members attending in July and high school sessions July 11 to 22. The 70 acre site has 10 cabins, a 250-seat dining room and improved kitchen, plus a new playground. Dr B S Arnold and Mrs Arnold occupy a central house. more than 1,000 youths are expected.

Massillon police report a young man about 18 wearing women’s clothing snatched purses from two women, Mrs. F. M. Shine and Mrs. Edna McGeorge, as they exited a bus on 8th Street NE. Shine’s bag held $2.50 and McGeorge’s only small change.

Plane Firm Expands To Fill U. S. Contracts
Hawthorne California June 18 AP Northrop Aircraft Inc announced expansion to a postwar peak of 8000 workers due to new U S Air Force contracts. Two thousand one hundred hires in six weeks bring total to 7400. Contracts cover assault transports fighters and jet propulsion conversion of B 35 flying wing bombers from propeller to jet power.
