Parents Plea May Send Last Marine Son Home
ETROIT, Dec. 30 AP Sorrowing for a marine son reported killed in Korea, Mr and Mrs Peter Migala today nourished a new hope that his brother may be returned from combat. They said they have had a letter from President Truman and a telephone call from the Defense Department that their only surviving son, Gabriel, 23, may be brought back home. Their other boy, Jerome, 21, a member of the same marine company as Gabriel, was reported killed in action near the Hungnam beachhead on Nov 27. The parents immediately asked for Gabriel's return. They play a phonograph recording of Jerome's voice, made a few days before his death. In it, he tells them that he's fine, and laughs about running up and down the Korean hills.
