Gun mishap injures former local woman

Akron December 22 Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co announced start of producing a war tire from reclaimed rubber to counter Japanese threats to American rubber in the Far East. Chairman P W Litchfield said the tire is an expedient to keep wheels moving, not for speed, and warned not to exceed 35 mph. He noted regenerated rubber is inferior to crude rubber but preferable to no tire amid Japanese invasion risk to rubber sources.
