Doings of the City Council and Tuesday actions
Monday night the city council met after nine, auditing committee replaced the finance one, most bills allowed except a marshal's $00 claim for a dog kill. Friction with the mayor surfaced over appointments, a fire at the lime yard followed waterworks leaks, and an August franchise decision moved to a special session. Tuesday the council met in special session, franchise approved with road shift, judges for a July bond election named, waterworks debt pursued, and a feasibility survey authorized. Weddings, fires, dissolutions, and obituaries appear in local notices and society items.

Caldwell residents vote not to hold a Fourth of July celebration in 1907 to save funds for road and bridge obligations. The piece notes San Francisco road financing, upcoming Canyon County fair costs, and shared support for neighboring communities including Nampa and Boise. It then recounts a highly praised Caldwell versus Weiser baseball game with 2000 attendees and gate receipts over 600 dollars.
