Noted for Ger Caught in Fraud at multiple towns

Clarence Hamilton posing as a sales conductor forged a $66.50 check in Flaxton and was cashed by the Hoyt Brothers. Arrested at Kenmare, he waived examin ation and is jailed in Ward county awaiting Bowbells grand jury. He had entered Columbus to shoplift checks and fled by train, later forging another $87.60 item in Havana, N D. Sheriff Stainhofer traced him through hotel registers and bank records. warrants and agencies across states pursue him. The note adds fair admission price and local crop reports, closing with a classified sale line for a heating stove.

Foreman Emil Freidbauer Arrested on Assault Charge

Section foreman Emil Freidbauer of the city was arrested on a warrant from Justice Kopriva for assault. After workers quit and refused to vacate the section house, Freidbauer warned them with a revolver. The case, defended by Geo H Gjertsen, was moved to Justice Blenkner and continued until next week. Also, Wm. Conrad leased his farm west of the city to Dick Siver for the 1912 season.

Blenkner Returns from Canada to Bowbells

Ralph Blenkner son of Mr and Mrs C H Blenkner arrives in Bowbells from Edmonton Canada where he spent six months as a traveling salesman with Swift Canada Packing Co He notes Edmonton boom with population growth from 9000 to 34000 and ongoing construction Wheat frost damage high grade mostly No 2 Oats much better and kernels large He will stay for winter and manage Pioneer Store Also mentions relatives arriving, a jail sentence for Jennie Ogg, wrestling tickets on sale, and a county fair dance invited for both evenings.

Canadian Reciproc ity Plan Rejected and Laurier Defeated

Montreal reports a radical political shift as reciprocity with the United States is rejected. Laurier’s government falls, R L Borden to form a Conservative ministry. Ontario Manitoba and British Columbia vote against Laurier. Saskatchewan and Alberta show mild support for reciprocity. Public reaction in the United States awaited.

Wheat threshing display draws attention at Donovan Bros store

Jerry Donovan reports a varied wheat threshing display with samples from Hector McCoo 18 bushels per acre and A E Stutzman 15 to James Beck 12, Frank Luckman 15, George Clark 8, Mike Mertes 8, noting frost or black rust damage. North of town yields range 8 to 18 bushels per acre with similar damage. Also a for sale note for house and lot opposite the school.
