Man 63 Gets Ten Years For North Dakota Murder
Ellendale North Dakota Ort 19 Schon J 63 was found guilty of first degree manslaughter and given a ten year hard labor sentence at the state penitentiary in Bismarck for the murder of his wife Katrina Schon in a July 17 fire at their farm home two miles east of Ellendale. Neighbors reported Schon acted strangely after the fire and authorities suspected insanity but a jury found him guilty after a trial that spanned hours with self defense and accident theories offered.

Minot North Dakota September 19 Army Frederickson a young city worker was arrested on perjury charges. The warrant came from the state attorney after Art Washburn of Berthold was detained as the accused in a statutory rape case with the girl as the complaining witness. The girl aged seventeen testified Washburn was not guilty and he was released. The state attorney says one of them lied.

Jamestown North Dakota October 19 Daniel Clayton age 106 father of 19 children youngest 29 years was committed to the state insane hospital from Oliver county. Clayton is in feeble condition due to age and unable to care for himself. William Richardson and Guy Heamer transients arrested at Portal about two weeks ago on the charge of playing were taken before Judge Leighton at Minot. They pleaded guilty and were each sentenced to 100 days in the county jail and a 200 fine.

Little Girl Dies From Bonfire Burns In North Dakota

Boy 15 Killed by Hunting Companion
In Towner North Dakota an accidental shooting occurred as two 15 year olds Harvey Hutton and Percy Peterson paused while duck shooting. Peterson fired while reloading, hitting Hutton in the abdomen. Hutton died about fifteen minutes later as authorities investigated the mishap.
Wisconsin man killed by trio in Holoup incident
Stanley reports Lare M. Olson of Wisconsin, 23, was held up and fatally shot by three men in a dark railroad yard near Ray. A companion, M. Gillispie, fled to summon help as the assailants fled before robbing Olson. Coroner’s inquest returns death as a gunshot wound by unknown perpetrators. Olson, unmarried, will be shipped to Wisconsin for burial.
