Passenger Train Explodes Gas Tank After Wagon Collide
Glen Ullin N D Oct 18 Jacob Shock prominent young farmer narrowly escaped death as Northern Pacific train No 7 struck his wagon at a crossing near the Andrews elevator. A 60 gallon gasoline tank exploded igniting fumes that trapped five coaches before Glen U llin firemen extinguished the blaze. Shock died ninety minutes after the collision. Engineer James McDonald backed toward the water tank as observers watched, the wagon was struck while crossing the tracks and the engine’s view was blocked by adjacent buildings. Conductor P Wilson and B L Patterson were in charge of the train.

Family troubles blamed for Fargo hotel death
In Fargo North Dakota on October 18 192? a 26 year old woman identified as Mrs Axel Akeson reportedly drank carbolic acid after a quarrel with her husband at a local hotel. She ran to his room and died twenty minutes later. An empty bottle and signs of a burned mouth and face were found. The couple had been married about four years and had no children. The sister Miss Frieda Storke found the bottle in her room and a physician could not save her. Relatives said domestic differences likely led to the act.
