Soo Train Crashes Into Grain Wagon Near Foxholm
In Foxholm North Carolina on October 4 a Soo Line train traveling at about forty miles per hour struck a wagon driven by Jasper Longanecker a young local farmer. The collision hurled him against the locomotive and left him with a broken leg internal injuries and severe head and facial wounds. The wagon was splintered and the horses escaped uninjured. Longanecker was taken to a Kenmare hospital where doctors feared for his life. He left a wife and one year old child.
