P Beighley of Gordonsville Minnesota and his wife visit their daughter Mrs T C Barker recount their memories of the Civil War and frontier conflicts. He served in Co C Fifth Minnesota Infantry from 1862 guarding Yellow Medicine Agency and Ridgely before fighting at New Ulm Fort Ridgely and Ft Snelling later joining Canton Miss and marching to Ft Fisher. He mentions 33 battles and skirmishes until mustered out in August 1865.
