North Dakota Aviator Fred J. Southard Dies in Flight
Minot news wires report Fred J. Southard formerly of Williston died after falling 100 feet from an aeroplane he had just bought from the Wright Brothers at Wright aviation field near Osborn. He began his first solo flight and fell six minutes after taking off. Southard had moved between Williston Minneapolis and later pursued real estate interests and aviation. Dungan hangs himself in Ellendale jail cell
Frank Dungan who shot James Cole at Fullerton on May 4 hanged himself in his Ellendale jail cell last night. He had been suspected insane and his wife died in an asylum earlier. His two children were placed with relatives in Fulda, Minnesota. The Kenmare schools stage The Elopement of Ellen at the opera house next Wednesday evening, praised for rehearsals.
