Old time reminder recalls Samuel C. Irish pioneer treasurer
A Whiting Iowa dispatch recalls Samuel C. Irish born 1810 in Vermont as the only treasurer of a state or territory who never possessed public funds. He served Dakota Territory during 1857 61, charged a county clerk with ballot fraud, faced Sioux war danger, helped found Mantorville Minnesota, and helped build Trinity church district in New York before moving west.

Sad Death of a Child in Hankinson
Eight year old Roland Forman son of W C Forman Jr Hankinson News publisher and nephew of Tribune editor died Saturday afternoon at his home in Hankinson. He was found by his father dangling from a gas pipe using a shawl atrap as a trapeze. Despite hospital efforts and resuscitation the boy died from heart failure likely weakened by a recent severe bout of whooping cough. Funeral was Tuesday with Hankinson schools adjourned for the occasion.

Notice of Taking Up Estrays Approved 1907 Provisions
The 1907 act requires any person who takes up estrays such as horses cattle or other livestock to publish a notice within ten days in a county or nearest newspaper describing the animal and its marks. They must also file a description with the county auditor and mail a copy to the commissioner of agriculture and labor. A three person board of appraisers will be formed by the parties and a local justice of the peace. Destruction possible if appraised worthless.
