Farmers Paid in Drouth Insurance Settlement
New England North Dakota February 28 The National Insurance Company of Pittsburgh deposited 40000 in checks at a local bank for farmer customers on the final settlement of the drouth controversy. The insurer refused earlier settlements arguing crops were insured after July winds burned out. The payment will aid hundreds of farmers financing spring operations. Last year marked the first drouth insurance in the area with seven dollars per acre insured.

Death of eight year old Joseph Monson
Joseph Monson the eight year old son of Mr and Mrs J J Monson of west of Woburn died Monday from the effects of water on the brain. He had not been well since birth but declined in the last hours before death. Funeral from the Norwegian Lutheran church west of Woburn at two o'clock Saturday afternoon with Rev Peterson of Stampede officiating. Many friends and relatives attended both church and cemetery services.

Stott, who led a drag timne in Bowbells for three years, disappeared last Sunday night with his family and belongings. He loaded his personal effects on a wagon and left, direction unknown. He came from Canada four years ago by team, worked various jobs, then engaged in diagonals, briefly prospering before winter hardships forced his departure and creditors mounted.

Wyman Brooks Dies in Lakeview Township North Dakota
Wyman Brooks died Tuesday February 19 at his home in Lakeview township Burke county after a stroke of paralysis. Born June 20 1877 in Hudson Wisconsin he moved to North Dakota in 1898 and lived there since. He married Ella Mae Johnston March 27 1901 in Hudson Wisconsin and leaves eight children seven living two daughters Lilah D died at eighteen months. He is survived by his mother a sister and two brothers. Funeral was at the home with Rev McIvor officiating and burial at Rose Hill cemetery.
