Dr Thor Moeller, recently discharged from the state penitentiary after an indeterminate term with a minimum of six years, plans to resume his medical practice in Velva North Dakota. He was paroled earlier this week and received a royal welcome in Velva upon his prior relocation.
Jim Thompson 28, a Fargo laborer, was found dead lying across the Great Northern tracks near Kragnes with an empty carbolic acid bottle beside him. Coroner C. G. Vincent and undertaker Sherman Wright investigated. farewell lines were found in his clothing. He lived at 20 Eleventh Street, Fargo, and unemployment is believed to have driven the act.
The record shows Margaret Twaddle and Richard Cid from Duluth facing charges of unlawful desertion and association with Richard Witte. Witte and Twaddle connected to a reserve of accusations as they appeared before Devil’s Lake authorities.
In Bismarck on June 3, C F Clark and Cedar Rapids wife filed a $10,000 bond with the state supreme court for the appearance of Herbert Clark, eight, in court September 7. W J Stoje and wife of Flashar sought a writ of habeas corpus. bond terms require Clark and the boy’s appearance. The case centers on contested adoption and prior arrangements for care and support, with Clark claiming the child’s parents are deceased.

Reyilx Lake North Dakota June 2 Michael Ulick yesterday pled guilty before Judge W Buttz to charges of first degree murder and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill. He was arrested two months ago after a rampage at the Wessel home where he shot Mrs Wessel and abused her daughter by Sheriff Olsen in Lakota the morning after.

In Ryder North Dakota on June 3 Magnus Bjorley found his nephew Andrew Bjorley, 30, lying face down near a work team in a field at 7 p m. Paralysis caused his death.
Minot North Dakota June 3 James Smith a mulatto was arrested charged with rape of Mrs Emily Snell 21 a West Indian woman recently from Devils Lake. Held to district court under 1500 bail in county jail. Snell describes violent assault and gagging as she escaped after leaving a rooming house. Snell of Portuguese and Spanish descent has excellent reputation.
In Beach, Theodore Sweitzer awakened by a noise in his basement shot intruder Leroy Pate after pursuing him. Pate died from two gunshot wounds saying Youve got me kid. Jury exonerated Sweitzer citing self defense as Pates criminal intent surfaced in letters found with the deceased.
Dickinson North Dakota June J Charlane Sylvester a Northern Pacific conductor was charged with killing his wife in their Belford apartments last February. He was acquitted in district court yesterday afternoon. The jury accepted his version that the affair was sectional in nature and rejected the prosecution version.
Blamarck North Dakota June 3 An Ogures compilation by Ry Filnt commissioner of sericulture and labor shows at least 15 000 000 worth of cattle in North Dakota. The figures reflect growing herd values and ongoing expansion in the agricultural sector.
Figures estimate state cattle values around 15 million dollars for 1915 16 with broader growth in livestock branding. Assessors report rising shipments and brand records indicating expanding herds and investment in agriculture. In four months of 1912 seven brands were recorded, while 1916 shows 281 brands signaling a 300 percent rise year over year.
George Zachmeier of Mandan North Dakota backed a Ford with five passengers into a loaning area. A child screamed and the car stopped with a rear wheel resting on the chest of his 12 year old son. The boy was carried to town unconscious but revived three hours later with no broken bones.
Great Falls Mont June 8 George Thompson who came here from Berthold North Dakota with an 18 year old girl to whom he was married five days before at Minot North Dakota died by his own hand. He claimed to have been a partner in a sale of 48 horses to Briggs Miles City for which he said he had a half interest in a $12000 check. He shot himself in a cheap café and the undertaker found no cash on him. The girl says she is the daughter of S W Nelson of Berthold North Dakota.
Brocton Mont June 3 Sheriff James Nelson and deputy Carl Underwood were shot and killed last night by Harry Denning a band pigger whom they sought to arrest Denning fled on horseback despite a daylong posse pursuit authorities report the sheriff and deputy were killed during the attempt to seize Denning who claimed liquor sales on the nearby Indian reservation must stand unchallenged.

Three thousand acres of government land withdrawn for irrigation projects along the Missouri River will reopen for settlement June 29. In Williams county about 4,000 acres are restored, with 3,000 acres open to settlement in 160 acre tracts. Squatters will be treated as trespassers and rights will not be recognized. Filings for settlement start July 29, with priority given to first settlers or by drawing if multiple applicants. Check status of surveyed lands at the local land office before settling.
Grand Forks North Dakota June 3. A masked figure known as the mystery maiden of Falcone township continues to frighten county authorities by cutting down wire fences and leaving notes from R E threatening arson and poisoning livestock. The threats follow earlier incidents against Dryden and J Raymond farms, with notes praising the county officials.
Mrs. Fred A. Koehler died suddenly Saturday morning in the city from acute Brights disease. Born in Green Bay Wis June 6 1885 she moved with her family to Valley City later to Portal area. She married Fred A. Koehler in Bowbells Feb 4 1904 and leaves a grieving husband four children Wilbert 8 Walter 6 Clarence 4 Raymond 2 her mother Mrs Kruge Koelin and several siblings. The funeral was Monday at the local Presbyterian church with Yeoman lodge participation and interment at Bowdells Cemetery.
On and after May 28 1915 T J Kinsell of Flaxton North Dakota will not be responsible for any debts contracted by his son Lelintal W Kinnelia and will not collect any of his wagers.
The Bowbells convention to be held June 5 and 6 invites all citizens to attend and support Sunday school work. Delegates from county schools will attend. a program includes Presbyterian church services, meetings at the church, and a large choir. Tickets exist for meals at a moderate charge.
