Cy Kopriva formerly Burke County auditor was arrested by Sheriff Ed Water on a charge of embezzlement. The complaint, signed by John Grubb, alleges $701.40 of state hunting license funds misused. In court he waived examination and was bound over to district court in a $1,000 bond.
North Dakota Supreme Court orders a third trial for Arthur G. Weber after two jury verdicts found him guilty of fathering a child out of wedlock. The court backs trial judges who doubt jury accuracy and may grant new trials in such cases.

In Bismarck on December 28 two thirds of the North Dakota hail warrants are arranged for sale. Eddy County Toha DeJong represented Minnepots Loma una Trust Company in the purchase of the warrants, with a bank group to finalize the sale and a lender to buy about half of the warrants at a price near par.
W F Reynolds of Lark will succeed Rob Flint as state dairy commissioner, effective early next year, per J A Kitchen. Reynolds runs a Lark dairy farm and has worked with Fisher dairy circuit, Bowman Dairy Corporation in Ubicaga, and Dund Pre Milk Co in Bowman. He previously owned a Wisconsin dairy farm and helped organize county institutes and testing circuits.

Kenmare high school defeated Bowbells in both the boys and girls games last Friday. The boys led by three at 20 to 17 after a tight second half, while Jourgenson and Norlin stood out in the girls matchup as the fastest, most exciting local contest. Railways grant special one and one half fare rates for farmers from North Dakota Minnesota and South Dakota attending the Tri-State Grain Growers convention in Fargo on January 16. The reduced fare applies to round trip purchases and requires use of an open plan ticket. Information announced today by W C Palmer secretary of the organization.
Former Mohall State Bank official Frank W. Wiehe, along with ex-officers C. Peters and W. Bergman, seeks parole from Leavenworth federal prison. Wiehe began a sentence November 2, plans to file parole papers around January 1, asking Minot and Mohall residents to provide recommendations to Judge Andrew Miller and U.S. officials.
