Apple scam suspect held on $8000 bond in Chicago

George B. Wright of Keweenaw Bay Wis was arrested in Chicago and jailed on 8000 bond for mail fraud. He allegedly sold apples under many company names including Northwestern Growers association Upper Michigan Pot ato Growers and National Light Company but did not deliver. Wright denies wrongdoing and claims only Michigan Growers association employment, while North Dakota buyers await value for money.

Runaway injures Kenmare man near Kenaston

Kenmare North Dakota December 16 A young man named Ard Kyalhim residing southwest of Kenaston was brought to St. Johns hospital with injuries from a runaway. Initially thought to be skull fracture and internal injuries, he is recovering well. He and his brother Gabriel tried to hitch a team of unruly horses when a sudden leap of the wagon overturned him. A Burke county livestock and farm sale at F. Southward farm netted about 2500 dollars with cash buyers dominating. Auctioneer Col. E. C. Mahoney noted strong demand and many local farmers praised the sale. Louis Kuethe plans a winter trip from Woburn to Preston Minnesota, visiting relatives and other points, and Julius Virgin of Villa leaves for Minnesota for several months.

Frozen body of girl found and five arrested

Devils Lake North Dakota December 19 1926 the frozen body of Agnes Williams age 25 was found near the Devils Lake bridge south of the city. Officials at Benson county have warrants for five Indians on the Fort Totten reservation believed to know something of her death. Williams was last seen leaving the Fort Totten agency last Saturday night and her body was found today.

Shothered by Cavern of Oats in Lisbon ND

Nels Linge of Hastings North Dakota was smothered to death after being buried by several hundred bushels of oats. He had been drawing oats from a bin when the grain crust formed after dampening, causing him to sink to the bottom. Linge was formerly of Waglevale and well known in the area.

Ambroze, N. D., Dec. 17. Neighbors found a horse loose at a stable with a wagon hitched. An overturned wagon box lay 30 feet away and an overcoat became Ole T. Rigstad’s body. Coroner and jury ruled accidental death from a runaway while unhitching.

Minot North Dakota December 18 after years of legal fights for liberty Dr Theo Moeller formerly of Minot now of Velva must serve a ten year term in the state pen at Bismarck for the murder of Gina Lien a Lorraine North Dakota music teacher in this city four years ago This is the final decision of the supreme court reaffirming Judge Leighton of this district handed down at Bismarck Monday afternoon Moeller will begin serving soon ending one of Ward County s dramatic criminal histories The defendant a prominent physician was arrested after the death of Gina Lien at a Minot hotel and charged with second degree murder It was alleged he performed a criminal operation from which she died L D Dale a young banker of Lorraine was also implicated and after his Rugby trial he was sentenced to a long term in the penitentiary Dale later died after returning home The pardon board freed Moeller earlier due to illness Mrs Christ Kreisel of west of the city left last night for Minnesota to visit relatives including Bigin Boyd and Owatonna for six weeks

Minot North Dakota December 14 A motion to strike allegations in the accusation against Divide county auditor W E Vadnais by States Attorney E Brace was argued before Judge Leighton and resulted in a dismissal of the entire action Brace had charged irregularities in the county office over the past two years and sought Vadnais removal The decision ends the case with no further action. Willieton Ohio December 13 An insane man James Estevan walked from Cathon Ohio to Tioga County and was arrested His escape was admitted after examination by Williams County officials He traveled on foot for miles and gained freedom by being a trusty at the Ohio asylum He slept at a farm home before returning to jail awaiting advices from the asylum.

Amundson to be tried in Williston sixth county shift
