Fire devastates Columbus business district
A Sunday early morning blaze of unknown origin destroyed the Evernum pool hall and many adjacent buildings in Columbus. Firefighters could not contain the flames, a large pump aided by local and Portal crews fought the blaze, with only two banks and a remaining store spared. Boy Severely Cuts Leg In Field Accident Near Schmidt
Four year old son of farmer John Belohlavek near Schmidt, North Dakota, ran in front of a barley binder while his father cut grain. The leg ligaments were badly cut and the leg severely lacerated before the father could stop the horses. The boy was taken to Mandan hospital where doctors expect the leg may be saved.

Woman Carried by Cyclone Not Injured in Berthold
In Berthold North Dakota Mrs Steve Avery wife of a farmer eight miles south of town was picked up carried six rods and set down on her foot when a cyclone demolished the farm home and contents.
