Motherless Girls Victims of Boys

Kensal North Dakota August 14 authorities report a grave case as three Rogers sons Hugh Roberts Chester Elfstrom and Dan Farrel are arrested for a statutory crime at the urging of Frank Stears whose daughters aged 14 and 16 are said to have been victims. The youths are underage and related to one of the girls. Neighbors call for full prosecution noting the girls lack mothers and blaming ignorance of life facts for the tragedy.

Young Boy Killed Unloading Hay at Maddock Farm

Maddock North Dakota August 14 Joseph Kirkeby youngest son of Mr and Mrs Olaus Kirkeby was killed while hauling hay. A neck yoke ring broke causing the load to shift and the team to the foot of a hill. While stopping to unhitch in view of his parents he was kicked in the abdomen and died almost instantly. He was well liked and notable for his physique for his age.

Beguin and Troskey Arrested on Gambling Charge

Beguin, former police chief and threshing rig owner, and P J Tr eakey, Opera Pool Parlors proprietor, were arrested in Bowbells under the new gambling law taking effect July 1. Both were granted changes of venue and continuances, with bail posted. The law allows closing the gambling building for one year if convicted.
