Accidental Gunshot Fatal to Edman Child Near Newburg
A two year old girl, daughter of Nicholas and Edman, died after a rifle misfire at the Edman home three miles northeast of Newburg. The incident occurred Saturday when a loaded rifle was brought indoors and fired while the child played in the yard. Medical aid arrived but she survived 48 hours. Funeral was held May 29 at Newburg church. body to be shipped to Wisconsin. The family receives community sympathy.

Westhope Awards Contract for New School Building
Trimble and Finkenbinner were awarded the contract to erect the new $14,000 school building at Westhope. The contractors plan to have the structure completed and ready for the fall term.

Bottineau Aggregation Triumphs In Second Game Against Westhope
About 450 fans packed the ball park as Bottineau routed Westhope 18 to 1 in two hours. Bidne pitched well, with Osgood making 14 chances and Kirke delivering a sacrifice. Umpire W J Clare praised the officiating as Bottineau built a commanding lead the same day.

McCarthy and Godfrey Wed in Westhope Ceremony
Miss Carmine McCarthy of Westhope and Dr. W H Godfrey of Russell were married on Saturday May 18 at the Methodist parsonage in Westhope. Rev Wilson officiated before a small circle of close friends. A sumptuous reception followed the ceremony.

The wedding dinner was served for about thirty guests. Miss McCarthy, a trained nurse from Westhope, is a popular local figure among the youths. Dr. Godfrey, based in Russell for the past year, enjoys a growing medical practice.

Westhope Tragedy A Young Mother Ends Own Life
Mrs Roy Hart 26 died yesterday afternoon in Westhope by shooting herself with a 22 rifle. Husband Roy Hart left for a ball game. upon return he found his wife dead in the house with their young son nearby. Neighbors express shock and sympathy as no motive is known.
