Willow City Blaze Destroys Dozen Businesses

A Willow Fire in Willow City destroyed quinze buildings including Wesley White bakery Charles Erb butcher shop Lizette Brothers department store and multiple drugstores and shops. Water works measure passes with minimal turnout

Election on the water works proposal drew only 140 votes with 135 in favor and five against. Ward results show 74 for and one against in the third ward, 46 for and three against in the second, and 15 for and one against in the first. A note suggests moving the five dissenters from town. Also mentions no Sunday service at the Methodist Episcopal Church.

Willow City correspondent reports Friday night concert by the Willow City band was a marked success. Vocals pleased the crowd with Miss Hager encore and a quartette performance of Hail to our star gemmed flag.
