The regulars controlled the Republican state convention in Minot by a wide margin, defeating insurgents nearly two to one. Senator McCumber urged harmony in his opening address, with Taft endorsed in resolutions and the delegation instructed for him. Charles T. Grace of Newburg named alternate delegate, James Kennedy of Fargo elected national committeeman.

Chas Bottineau Dies in Washington at 82
Charles Bottineau a leading Turtle Mountain Indian died in Washington at the age of 82 while pursuing Indian claims before Congress. He lived with a nephew in Washington and was well known in North Dakota where Bottineau County is named for the family. The body was taken to Neche, North Dakota for burial.
