Death of Pioneer John Cameron A Bottineau Settler
John Cameron known as John Knox died suddenly of heart failure at his Bottineau home on Wednesday June 19 1907 aged nearly 80. Born in Scotland he lived in Ontario before moving to Bottineau County in 1887 and later settled in the Peabody district. He leaves a wife and five children and was a longtime Presbyterian and Peabody church elder. Funeral services were held at the Presbyterian church with burial at Oak Creek cemetery. The community mourns the loss of a respected early settler and neighbor.

Baseball Tournament Lights Up Westhope With Special Train
A base ball tournament drew a small but engaged crowd in Westhope with a special Bottineau train delivering attendees. The Westhope band provided daily music and the event offered steady entertainment as teams like Antler played Westhope.

Tornado Visits Westhope Area Damaging Farms
A tornado struck near Westhope early Sunday causing extensive farm damage seven miles southwest. Barns granaries and sheds were destroyed or moved, with McDougal and Cameron properties heavily affected and several outbuildings scattered. A seed drill and buggy were hurled aloft. no deaths reported.

Local wagon wreck blamed on stormy blast
A wagon was torn apart by a new arm in the county with one wheel and wagon axes ripped off found about a quarter mile away. No deaths reported as the storm brought thunder lightning and torrents of rain.
