Under an act of the state legislature the State Superintendent may issue two year teaching certificates to graduates of district agricultural schools or accredited high schools after meeting required study and training. Beaver High has qualified and been approved, enabling graduates to receive a diploma for university entry and a two year teaching certificate, benefiting other local schools as well.
Rev J W Dull pastor of the new Christian church at Gray and Evangelist Win LeMay, conducting a revival, will dedicate the newly built church on Sunday Sept 26. Elaborate arrangements include a big basket dinner at noon. Gray residents expect a large turnout barring weather and road conditions.
Rally day service at the Methos dial Church last Sunday drew families and new members for the Sunday Bethoo. Children sang and recited well and may attract Beaver residents to attend more Sunday Schools with continued efforts. The work was extensive but rewarding.
W A Clark organizer of the Farmers Grain and Elevator Company visits this week to start a large wheat bin project east of the river, pending railroad completion. He aims to begin buying wheat next week and sells stock at 1000 with no majority ownership. Stockholders will elect officers and directors. farmers are urged to invest.
A community event at Beaver High School invites all to a watermelon social and book shower Friday evening. Attendees bring books for the school library and enjoy free watermelon. proceeds support library needs. Local merchants promote sales and a library drive amid town news and baseball results.
Beaver County residents enjoyed a large Southwest fair last week in Liberal Kansas with ample amusement and displays of regional farm products. Attendees included CULWELL family, Marie Harrie, Russell Drum, OMT Drum, Elbert Clift, A M Barnam, Lynn Moore, Art Turner, Leander Niles, Gladys Main, and others, though many names were not obtained.
Jas Davin of Woodward buys a tract west of Miller home for a suburban house and will begin construction soon. W D Trdas, a Foigan hardware dealer, plans a business building near Bonner Meridian, to house his firm as town commerce grows. Birthday dinner honors J Wy Webb and family with relatives nearby. City rapid in installing lights and water, transforming daily life as these services expand.
In a long standing case tied to early Kiowa land disputes, an execution for 27,348.92 was issued against defendants including Barrett Evans Sime and Parker. After previous settlement, some defendants paid 6000 and others faced new action. sheriff targeted non paying defendants while prior payers were relieved.
A garbled local notice advertises lighting plant bargains and a Beaver Furniture Company contact for inquiries. It mentions State Bank of Forgan for sale paper and available music lessons with Mrs Homer Hill, inviting phone calls or school-building visits.
