Beaver Schools Make Progress In New Term
The Beaver Schools began last week with all courses arranged and operating smoothly. Attendance is good despite some crowding in grades, and the system aims to sustain its creditable standing. Faculty includes Superintendent W Homer Hill and teachers at various grade levels. County bootleg cases lead to fines and jail terms as Judge J A Spotin enforces penalties.

Beaver County received two general rains this week, a heavy shower Tuesday night and steady rain Wednesday, including 2.14 inches at night. The soaking aided newly sown wheat and prepared soil for sowing, though broomcorn suffered minor damage.

Mr and Mrs I W Moore entertained Beaver High School alumni in honor of William and Harold Loofbourrow, Class of 1915, who depart tomorrow for the State University at Norman. The Social Hour club hosted members and their husbands at Mr. and Mrs. BO Taylor’s home Thursday night. Guests enjoyed entertainment and refreshments. Lens Hartonft recently arrived from Dallas to work at Mrs. Robertson’s millinery. B L Pickel bought a new Overland touring car and plans a garage for it. Mrs Ida Turner of Enid visits her sister Mrs T L Floyd and brothers H D Ed and Harry Peckham before returning home. Last week the Wrightgrove Sunday School planned a large picnic with elaborate arrangements, a sumptuous picnic supper, raw cream, lemonade, and a well-attended gathering.

The couple plan to stay with the groom's parents. A new two story cement block building is under way at Kirt and Douglas by W. G. Stranathan to house a grocery and market, with upper rooms for office or living quarters. Beaver County strawberries, bowring variety, are noted as prolific from April to November by Col. J. Drummond, with flavorful large red fruit observed by the Herald editor.
