An official of Governor Haskell’s school land department says the appraisal of Western Oklahoma school lands will cost half as much as their value. The 102 appraisers will work until January 1, using data from the former territorial regime now filed in the school land office, with payments and expenses noted.
At a directors meeting in Beaver City on January First the Heaver Valley and North-Western Railroad signed with a construction firm to begin land work at Ginge and Hooker. The firm pledges to start before spring, stock payments set at 1000 per mile, and notes payable only on completion. If built you pay. if not, no obligation. A Hooker meeting tonight will discuss terms as residents weigh the risky but potentially profitable plan.
