Beaver County Teachers Association Meeting at Forgan

The Beaver County Teachers Association held a successful meeting at Forgan with about 115 teachers attending. Dr. Phelan of the State University gave an address on the Adolescent, praised for its practical insight, and Dr. Battenburg of Northwestern State Normal spoke as well. The event featured musical numbers, round table discussions, and hospitality from local residents.

Forgery Complaint Filed Against Fort Worth Man

Frank Ma. Mimbey of LuaKemp neighborhood filed a forgery complaint against H.S. Callaway of Fort Worth. The alleged forged check was drawn at Shattuck. Callaway has been jailed since last Saturday, but Elle County sheriff moved him to Arnett for trial earlier this week.

Mrs Carson Surprised At Farewell Party In Beaver

The Bide-a Wee Club in Beaver held a farewell gathering for Mr. and Mrs. Carson at their home on Monday night. A Sterling Silver spoon bearing the club name was given to Mrs. Carson. Guests included Mrs. H. G. Butler, Mrs. Dave Birw and Mrs. J. E. Provost. Mrs. Barrow and Mrs. Provost traveled to Minneola Kansas for a Women’s Foreign Missionary Society convention. Delegates to the national convention in Wichita October 26 to November 1 are named. Many locals attend the Panhandle Fair at Guymon this week, with several purebred breeders exhibiting.

Ride A Wee Club Delight Entertained at Maple Home

Members of the mine a Wee Club and guests were hosted at Mr. and Mrs. Frank Maple’s ranch home. A bountiful noon dinner followed by a club meeting elected Mrs. V T Cules and others as delegates to the State Federation of Women’s Clubs. Red Cross Roll Call support was pledged with a committee named. Donations were approved to the Club Endowment and Educational funds.

Doctor to join Oklahoma Masonic delegation for Washington trip

Dr. L. L. Leng departs Friday to Oklahoma City to join the Oklahoma Masonic delegation and a 50 car special train to Washington, D C. He will take the K T O K degrees and expects to be away ten days to two weeks. A M Willis of Beaver area plans to move to the Big Bend in Texas next week, owning land there. J E Newby and wife of Gate visit and have their names added to the Ble Book. The Herald welcomes back Mr Newby as a former reader after a period away.
