The Beaver paper announced that State Superintendent R. H. Wilson would speak in Beaver Nectar on October ling day afternoon during the County Fair. A correction states Supt Wilson will speak Saturday. readers are asked to hear him and plan attendance.
Agricultural Agent B F Markland will attend the County Fair as a judge and deliver an address to farmers on timely topics Friday. His talk is billed as well worth hearing. Also reported are births: a boy to Mr and Mrs Mike Jones on Sept 30. a girl to Mr and Mrs Jack Karnes of Elmwood on Sept 28. a girl to Mr and Mrs W G Shanathon on Sept 30.
Hon Jos H Frailer Moor leader of the Iowa State Senate will speak in Beaver County October meeting. He is unalterably opposed to the League of Nations and will present solid reasons for his stance. Do not miss this opportunity to hear him.
Bear County Fair management insured the event against adverse weather this week to protect the time and money spent. The move is praised as prudent and the public hopes for good weather, but the policy guards against potential loss.
The Board of County Commissioners met this week after district court disclosures involving county engineer W A Ingram. They voted to declare the office vacant after Ingram refused to resign, citing flood road work and the need for a capable engineer approved by the highway department.

Beaver visitor Steffen toured Harper county appealing to voters for a second term. Observers say he is a popular candidate, a live wire booster, and did all that could be expected in the Inez legislature. Beaver county allies expect a large majority and urge support across party lines.
Beavers extend congratulations to Mr and Mrs Chase and Miss Lila Meese, daughter of the County Judge. The newlyweds wed last week. Mr Chase starred in local basketball and led athletics at Beaver High, a standout on the girls team. The Herald joins friends in sending best wishes.
After testimony by Joe Bowers in Steck land vs Bowers, 20 percent of road contract funds were said to be paid to County Engineer Myram Tom Melvin George Whitaker and a state highway department clerk. Bowers was arrested on bribery charges and bound over to district court.

The Intermediate Girls Sunday School Clay entertained the Intermediate Boys at the home of Mr and Mrs No Bl Davia last night. The Junior Boys of the same school entertained the Junior girls the same night at the home of Prof and Mrs A O Andrew.
