It reports travels to Kansas City, Woodward, and Niagara Falls, plus local health updates, jail inspection, and a gift of flowers.
The Republican party calls all candidates to assemble at the Beaver Court House on October 1 at Zo'elook p m to discuss campaign issues. Jons W. Savacw serves as chairman with Thomas P. Barowoon as secretary. J. W. Copeland of Dayton Ohio is noted in the notice. A separate item mentions Chamberlain's Cough Remedy easing a boy's cold, suggesting it could save a $5 doctor bill.
The death of Miss Aliye Stone formerly of Beaver was reported as typhoid fever in Maris Kentucky on September 25. Friends recall her as a true, generous ally and mourn the loss. Beaver County Sunday School Convention plans are announced for October 20–21 at the Beaver Presbyterian church with state officials in attendance and requests for county superintendents to confirm attendance.
Congregation and friends held an old fashioned donation party for Rev L L Shaw and his wife last Friday night. Bundles of pantry stores linens and blankets were given to aid their temporal welfare for weeks to come. The Shaws were surprised and greatly pleased by this substantial remembrance from their friends.
Obituary notes Joseph Eells born January 16 1887 in Lodi Wisconsin married twice to Roberta Kemnond and Edna A Cuckle. He died September 7 1912 after a brief illness. interred at Balko Cemetery on September 8. He was a devout Christian and member of the Liberal Hardware Co. mourned by family and many friends. Also mentions hog cholera warnings and local business update.
Fragmented local text urges completion of Sand Hills road work north of town where funds ran short and a remaining bad stretch needs immediate attention. It mentions a simple cheap method to keep livestock off the road and includes garbled notes about mixtures and application tools.
Heavy wheat transport has torn Beaver streets, leaving them badly cut up and in poor condition. City needs urgent street attention and repairs to restore safe passage and prevent further damage.
The first number of Beaver's lyceum course will be given October Lith at the High School Building. The show, secured by Dr. Leba Long, promises a good program. The De Luxe Tensorial Parlor reports marble improvements, including a hot and cold water system and new furniture, with more upgrades planned.
The Christian community held a large basket dinner and all-day service at the Elmwood school house which doubles as a church. Attendees from Beaver included Rev L L Shaw J R Thomas H F Ludlum Mr and Mrs B P Russell and Miss Ethel Hibba. Also notes on timely heat medicine for colds and a testimonial about Chamberlains Cough Remedy sold by dealers.
The Sunday program lists Bible School at 10 with morning service at 11 and evening service at 8. The day features Subject The Race of Life and The Penire of The Age, with special music morning and evening. Everyone is invited to attend along with the pastor Shaw.
