Beaver City Urges Clean Up Day Campaign

The mayor and city council designate Friday May 18 as CLEAN UP DAY for Beaver. Citizens are urged to remove filth, trash, and breeding grounds for disease, with business owners asked to close 2 to 4 pm to assist. Burn burnable refuse and haul or dump remaining waste to improve health and aesthetics.

Attorney Smith Goes to Fort Logan for Officer Reserve Training

Attorney Claude T. Smith departed yesterday for Fort Logan H. Root Arkansas to begin training as a member of the officer reserve corps. He was recently accepted into that division of the army service. The best wishes of the Beaver people go with him for honor and success.

Joe Meese Volunteers for Army Enlistment

Joe Meese left for Oklahoma City to take the officer reserve corps exam but did not meet enlistment requirements. He offered to serve and enlisted in the infantry, heading to Fort Logan Colorado for further examination and training. The community sends words of support as he begins military service.

Mrs. Homer Hill hosted a five course luncheon Thursday evening for the B H 8 Glee Club and editor of The Herald with accompanist Min Erma Crabtree.
